located on Sand Mountain between the two fastest
growing cities in DeKalb County. A friendly town

relocation destination. The community is made up
of small farms and a variety of businesses, which compliment the majestic beauty
and rural appeal for residents and visitors alike. Inside the town is located one of
the larger schools within the DeKalb County School System. Conveniently placed
on AL Hwy 75 and within close proximity to AL Hwy 35 and Interstate 59, positions

water lines in 2006 and a current project for major sewage expansion, is opening
up the Town of Sylvania to accelerated growth in retail businesses, subdivisions,
and industrial development. For those who are looking for a recreational haven,
Sylvania is proud of have DeKalb County’s only public lake within our Town limits.

visiting each year. The town is fortunate to have a stellar Police Department and
a dedicated Volunteer Fire Department. Sylvania Volunteer Fire Department
competes annually in State Competitions, winning 4 within the last 5 years. Families
living in Sylvania find much comfort and safety in having around-the-clock police
protection, as well as, two separate fire stations. The newest Fire Station is
conveniently located at Sylvania School, which lowers I.S.O. Ratings. The Town of
