Town of Sylvania City Council Meeting Minutes May 12, 2009 Regular Council Meeting was held in the Sylvania court room of the Sylvania City Hall at 6:00 p. Mayor Dendy called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. Councilman Goolesby led the prayer. Mayor Dendy led the Pledge of allegiance. Mayor Dendy welcomed all guest. Mayor Dendy requested a motion to disperse the reading of the minutes from the April 28, 2009 Council Meeting. A motion was made to disperse the reading by Councilman Phillips, seconded by Councilman Goolesby and passed unanimously. Attendance: Mayor Dendy Councilman Turner Councilman Phillips Councilman Goolesby Councilman Miller Councilman Owens Old Business: Mayor discussed the Transfer station. Attorney Shaunathan Bell stated that the station should be returned to Sylvania by mid may. Mayor told the council to discuss Proposed Ordinance 09-07 Vicious Dog. Councilman Turner made a motion to adopt the ordinance, Councilman Phillips seconded. Mayor called for any further discussion, Councilman Goolesby stated that he is opposed to this ordinance. Mayor called for vote on pending motion: Councilman Phillips - Yea Councilman Turner - Yea Councilman Miller - Nay Councilman Goolesby - Nay Councilman Owens - Nay Mayor - Yea Mayor stated that being there 3 yeas to 3 nays the Vicious Dog ordinance dies on the floor.
